May was a great month in Islamorada with a 30-pound bull mahi, Captain Chad going 7 for 10 on big permit, steady black grouper fishing, and sailfish still biting when the edge pushed in close.

April 18, 2026
A donated Best of the Upper Keys charity trip benefiting the Florida Keys Children's Shelter produced a perfect 2 for 2 on sailfish, plus mahi mahi, cero mackerel, and mutton snapper.
April 6–7, 2026
After nearly a week at the dock due to severe winds, the rebound has been excellent with sailfish shots on most 3/4 and full day trips, yellowtail snapper fishing as good as it gets, and a keeper cobia in the box.
March 17–25, 2026
An incredible week on the reef: muttons and yellowtails chewing, another keeper cobia, sailfish shots turned into catches, and a black grouper release ahead of the May 1 opener.
March 13–16, 2026
The reef has been fishing good with sharks around, a keeper cobia in the box, and a solid king mackerel bite. Heading offshore next for bigger fish.

Tougher fishing, but the crew made it happen with a big mutton snapper on a live pilchard in 115 feet and a quick cero mackerel release on the troll.

Two days offshore with the Miss Penny crew and friends produced 9 swordfish, 8 releases, 1 fish for the box, and roughly 17 more lost before the boat.

Live bait fishing on the edge of the reef with Patrick, Jeff, and Bryan produced a sailfish release, a big blackfin tuna, and a few mahi.
