We just wrapped up an epic two days of swordfishing with the Miss Penny crew and friends, and the action stayed steady enough to keep everybody locked in from start to finish.
Over the course of the trip, we caught 9 swordfish — released 8 and kept 1 — while losing about 17 more fish before we could get them to the boat. When you’re getting that many bites on a sword trip, you know things are happening offshore.
The trip came with a couple of crew stories too. Our deckhand Mark is joining the Navy, and after misspelling his rank, he named our sword buoy the “Seamen”. We also picked up a new offshore mascot along the way — a duck decoy drifting offshore that somehow found its way into the crew.
Every swordfish on this trip was caught on RJ Boyle Swordfish Baits. Big thanks to everybody who came out and put in the work over both days. Trips like this are exactly what keep us fired up to get back offshore.
