The Reef is Hot!

An incredible week on the reef — muttons and yellowtails chewing, cobia in the box, sailfish shots every day, and a black grouper release to get us fired up for May 1.

March 17–25 has been one of those stretches where the reef just keeps producing. Between a couple of windy days here and there, the fishing overall has been great and we’ve stayed busy putting together fun trips.

The mutton snapper bite has been incredible this last week. We’re catching them on dead and live bait, and it feels like every stop has a real chance at a quality fish.

The yellowtail snapper bite has been as good as it’s ever beenlots of fun for the whole family and a perfect way to keep rods bent and everyone engaged.

We also caught another keeper cobia, and we’ve been getting a shot at sailfish every day. We’ve turned a couple of those opportunities into catches, which is always a highlight on a reef run.

One other cool moment this week: we caught and released a nice black grouper, and we’re already excited for the May 1st grouper opener.

Looking ahead, we’ll be mixing in more offshore fishing and we’re hoping to report back with some big fish.
